Nathan Ota has been a creative force for years and the impact of his work is wide spread. It is a given that his drawing and painting skills are beyond compare. What separates Ota is his unique melding of bleakness and hope. His landscapes burst with sparkling beauty, yet his empathetic characters beg us to consider their dark and troubled existences. His ability to tell such complex stories within a single crushing scene is a rare gift. Quite simply, my heart swells and my throat draws tight when I view Ota’s work.

yes, my last name is Ransom
I co-create photos & films with Jason Mitchell. We are a creative team located in San Francisco working under the name Ransom & Mitchell.
I'm a set/prop creator, photo illustrator,
producer; Jason is a photographer, director & cinematographer. We work with beautiful people (inside & out) who prefer to be ugly (inside & out). We don't suffer fools or prima donnas. We like good coffee.
This blog is a Wunderkammer filled with heartfelt outpourings for those whom I deeply admire. By all means, stay for a drink.
