I have been a fan of Jeremy Hush’s delicate line work for a long time. At first glance his meticulous swirls and feather light pen flicks lull the eye into peaceful quiet. After spending a bit of time taking in the vast detail, the darker, more somber subjects emerge and the true depth of this skilled artist’s mind is revealed.

His latest show was featured in a write up in Hi-Fructose that includes a studio visit with detail photos of these works.

Hush was at Articulated Gallery last year as part of the group show “Spirit Board” curated by JL Schnabel of Bloodmilk. Below is the Ouija board created by Hush for the show. For anyone who has ever participated in a seance, it’s subtle details are deeply moving.

Below is a snapshot I took of Jeremy in front of his piece at that show. In this photo you can see the penchant hanging beneath his Ouija board.

Hush’s work has also been seen in multiple group shows curated by the sharp eyed Samantha Levin including, “A Curious Commotion” which featured the heartbreakingly beautiful piece, The Primrose Path (seen below). Prints of this piece are available through Cotton Candy Machine.

He was also in a group exhibition of White Rabbit Artists curated by Samantha Levin titled, Peripeteia for which he created the haunting piece Wake (seen below). Prints of this piece are available through Cotton Candy Machine.

I feel fortunate to consider Jeremy a friend and I am looking forward to seeing his works again in person. He never, ever disappoints.

In closing, I am going to share the little gift he sent me a few months ago when he was begining work on this show. It’s a thrill to see how his thoughts so clearly manifested into such a lush body of work.

Congratulations Jeremy on another beautiful show!
