Space Gallery presents Ezra Li Eismont entertaining new solo show, “Now! I Lay Me Down To Sleep.”
1141 Polk St
The show runs November 12th – Jan 7th
Eismont’s wry new paintings explore the darker side of how media manipulates of the minds of the masses. They are large scale, imposing and irrepressibly irreverent.
He also created an installation that is a an ode to John Carpenter’s 1988 film They Live. It is a series of family portraits both antique and modern that have been manipulated to represent an alternate family genealogy. Despite it obvious grim message, I find it quite charming. NOTE: many of these family portraits are affordably priced at $80, $150 & $300.
