Audrey Kawaski

Kawasaki’s delicate paintings embody the warm (temporary) glow of youth. She primarily paints on smooth wood so the organic patterns of the grain compliment her intricate line work and translucent washes.

At times she deftly cuts out her figures making them seem all the more breakable. When I gaze into the eyes of her subjects, I can sense them sadly whispering the knowledge of our mutual fragile existence.

You may view much more of her work on her website. You can also peak inside her mind by viewing her virtual journal. And you might enjoy reading her insightful blog. She Tumbls too.
